The SVITAVSKO micro-region In a picaresque landscape of the Bohemia-Moravia borderland, on the mildly undulating Svitavian hills, there lies an area which has always been tied with a common past. It is an area not large in its size, but more cultural instead. Hand in hand, there took place destinies of people of two nationalities - the Czechs and the Germans. The region is not too fertile, but its significance far exceeds borders of districts or states. The imprint of effort of many generations is obvious not only in the towns of Svitavy and Bøezová nad Svitavou but also in villages which have retained their character up to now. Regardless of dramatic happenings of their inhabitants, the villages bring the legacy of high cultural values which is just now being developed and deepened. The result of their tight co-operation is the formation of the Svitavian micro-region.
